If you are interested (or know someone who might be), talk to one of our existing members about their experience. Read the BOD manual, SANDS Bylaws and SANDS Policies then fill out a SANDS Board of Directors Application or print and forward it to info@sandsaz.org or mail it to PO Box 17011, Tucson, AZ 85731.

Terra Rivera
Terra Rivera is a working professional in the aerospace industry, wife to Jonathan, and proud mom to four children, including her daughter Madison, who was born with Down syndrome in 2017. Through Madison, Terra’s family connected with SANDS and found a community that quickly became like family.
Terra joined the SANDS Board of Directors in 2024, following in her husband Jonathan’s footsteps after his time serving on the board. She is passionate about advocacy, inclusion, and raising awareness while helping create a community where individuals with Down syndrome and other special needs are seen, valued, and celebrated.
Terra is honored to serve the Southern Arizona Down syndrome community and believes every individual should be recognized for who they are—capable, unique, and Down-right perfect!
