Kara Wiesmann
Kara Wiesmann is an experienced nonprofit leader bringing more than 20 years of leadership experience and a passion for strengthening communities through advocacy, collaboration, and strategic growth. She holds a bachelor's degree in Social Work, is a Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker (LBSW) in Arizona, and has earned a Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from Arizona State University. Throughout her career, Kara has worked in a variety of diverse environments, including serving rural communities, partnering with the Tohono O'odham Nation, and supporting Afghan refugees as they rebuilt their lives in Southern Arizona. These experiences have reinforced her belief that strong community partnerships, collaboration, and culturally responsive services are essential to creating lasting, meaningful change. As a leader, Kara is committed to building sustainable programs, strengthening organizational capacity, and expanding opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome and their families through innovation, collaboration, and community engagement.
